Scandal Point

Scandal Point in Shimla is one of the most visited tourist attractions. It is the intersection between The Mall and The Ridge. In addition, the Scandal point is the end of the Mall Road that joins the Ridge. However, the very name given to this place adds a tint of mystery to it. It has been named so after romantic folklore. The story says that during the British Era in 1892, Bhupinder Singh, the Maharaja of Patiala, fell in love with the ruler's daughter. It is believed that the king and ruler's daughter eloped from this point, way back in 1892. Therefore, he was banned from entering Shimla. Later on, he founded the new summer capital of Chail himself, which is around 45 km from Shimla. The intersection between the Mall and the Ridge from where they eloped was Scandal Point. Overnight stay in Shimla.

Jakhu Temple This temple is situated on Jakhu hill and dedicated to Lord Hanuman, it houses a 108-foot-tall idol of the deity. Legend has it that Lord Hanuman stopped here in his quest for the sanjeevani plant, which was the herb needed to cure Lord Lakshmana as he was injured in the battle against Ravana. Another story suggests that one of Lord Hanuman's sandals fell at this spot, and thus a temple came to be built here. The temple lies about 2.5 km away from the famed Ridge in Shimla. It takes on a celestial charm during monsoons.
